How to enable the Slow Motion Mode
GO Series: Slow Motion Mode
Applicable Models: GO 3, GO 3S, and GO Ultra
The Slow Motion Mode is designed to capture fast-moving actions, transforming high-speed scenes from sports, dance performances, and more into clear, fluid slow-motion media. This reveals every detail of the movement and expression. This article describes the complete process of setting up the mode and adjusting parameters, helping you easily get started and use slow-motion effects to present more expressive visual details.
How to enable the Slow Motion Mode
After powering on the camera, tap the "Shooting Mode" icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Swipe left or right to find and select the "Slow Motion" Mode (turtle icon). You can choose different high frame rates (e.g., 120fps and 200fps) according to your needs to capture smoother motion details. Once configured, press the shutter button to start recording.

Please note:
- GO Ultra: After recording, playback in the camera's album will be at a reduced frame rate, displaying the slow-motion effect directly.
- GO 3 / GO 3S: After recording, please view the footage in slow-motion effect via the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio.
FAQ
What is the difference between a slow-motion video shot by the camera and a slow-motion effect applied later in the Insta360 app / Insta360 Studio?
The main difference lies in the accessible method and image quality:
- Shot in the Slow Motion Mode: The video is shot at a higher original frame rate. The resulting slow-motion effect after export will be of higher quality compared with the slow-motion effect added in post-production.
- Added in the Insta360 app / Insta360 Studio: The slow-motion effect for videos shot in the Video Mode is applied by using the "frame interpolation" technology in post-production to achieve speed change.
