Instructions on Retro Viewfinder shooting preview
- You can easily check the framing through the Viewfinder to experience operations of a vintage film camera.
- When taking a selfie, you can use the Selfie Mirror on the Viewfinder to assist. Please remove the Viewfinder Cover from the bottom and cover the Viewfinder to ensure the best selfie preview effect.

- After pressing the shutter, wait for three beeps before moving the camera to avoid blurry images.
Please note:
- The FOV shown in the Viewfinder is slightly narrower than the actual captured image, similar to a Dewarp view. The preview image is mirrored left-right compared to the final image.
- The image in the Viewfinder is for composition reference only. The actual shooting angle and frame size may differ slightly from the Viewfinder display.
How to install the Battery Pack
- Remove the Rear Cover on Retro Viewfinder and insert the camera into the Magnetic Camera Mount.
- Attach the Battery Pack to the back of the Retro Viewfinder, aligning the metal contacts with those on the standalone camera.
- Press firmly on both sides of the camera until you hear a "click", which indicates successful installation.
FAQ
1. What items are included with the Retro Viewfinder separately purchased from official channels?
Retro Viewfinder × 1
Strap × 1
NFC Custom Skin × 1
2. Why does the camera wobble slightly when installed in the Retro Viewfinder?
To ensure compatibility with the Battery Pack, the structure is designed with a small amount of clearance, so slight movement is normal. This will not affect normal shooting and daily use.
3. Why is the Retro Viewfinder limited in framing angles (e.g., not suitable for high-angle or portrait-orientation shooting)?
Due to structural design constraints, the Retro Viewfinder has certain angle limitations. For portrait-orientation framing or flexible preview from more angles, we recommend connecting the camera to the Insta360 app for real-time preview and shooting.
4. Can the Retro Viewfinder be purchased separately for use with GO 3S Standard Edition?
The GO 3S Standard Edition supports framing and shooting when installed in the Retro Viewfinder. However, when connected to the Insta360 app, it remains the same as the Standard Edition with regards to the functional logic, so vintage filters such as Positive Film and Negative Film are not available.
5. Does GO 3 support use with the Retro Viewfinder?
GO 3 can be used with the Retro Viewfinder for framing and shooting, but its functional logic remains unchanged when connected to the Insta360 app.
