Firmware
Q1 What should I do if a firmware update fails?
There are two ways to update the firmware: via the Insta360 app and via computer. (Please refer to this tutorial for detailed instructions on updating firmware via the app and via computer)
If the firmware update fails, remove GO 3 from the Action Pod, then long press the GO 3 button and the Action Pod power button for 7 seconds to force shutdown. Now you can try again to complete the firmware update.
For updating firmware via the Insta360 app, please note:
- GO 3 and the Action Pod's battery must be at least 30%.
- GO 3 should be placed in the Action Pod and both should be powered on.
- The update process will last around 1 to 2 minutes. The camera will update first, then the Action Pod. After the camera is successfully updated, it will briefly disconnect from the Action Pod.
- The Action Pod takes longer than the camera to update. The Action Pod screen will display a progress bar during the update process.
- After the update, please check that the firmware versions of the camera and the Action Pod have been updated.
If you're unable to complete the update via the Insta360 app, restart GO 3 and try to complete the download via your computer.
For updating firmware via your computer, please note:
- The downloaded firmware file must be saved in the root directory of the camera's internal memory.
- Do not change the name of the firmware file. The original file name should be: Insta360GO3FW.pkg.
- GO 3's battery must be at least 30%.
- If the update still fails, please back up the files in the camera's internal memory and format the internal memory, then try the update process again.
