This article explains in detail the meanings of different gimbal indicator statuses, helping you quickly understand the device’s current operating status and battery level for smoother shooting preparation.

Powered On

Four indicators light up one by one clockwise; then display the current gimbal mode: Auto, F (Follow), PF (Pan Follow), FPV

Standby

Four indicators flash slowly simultaneously

Charging & Power Display

  • If the working mode light (A/F/PF/FPV/L) is displayed, the indicator will switch to the charging status light when the gimbal is charged. During charging, if the user switches the gimbal mode, the current mode light will be displayed for three seconds, then return to the charging status light.
  • When the gimbal is charging, the indicator shows the charging status light. During charging, if you click the Power button or M button (Flow 2 and Flow 2 Pro) to check the power, the current power light will be displayed for three seconds, then return to the charging status light.

Firmware Update

  • During the update, the four mode indicators light up in sequence repeatedly, with an interval of 0.2 seconds between each light.
  • After the update is complete, all four indicators light up simultaneously, turn off after one second, and restart.
  • During the update, the four mode indicators light up one by one from left to right (the left indicator turns off, then the right one lights up immediately), cycling repeatedly, with an interval of 0.2 seconds between each light.
  • After the update is complete, all four indicators light up simultaneously, turn off after one second, and restart.

Low Battery

When the battery level is below 6%, the bottom indicator flashes rapidly

When the battery level is below 6%, the leftmost indicator flashes rapidly

Gimbal Sleep

Four indicators flash in a breathing pattern continuously

FAQ

1. ​How to turn the tracking indicator on / off?

By default, the tracking indicator is enabled in the initial state. To turn it off, open the Insta360 app, navigate to "Gimbal Settings", and set the tracking indicator to "Off".​

Please note: The brightness of the tracking indicator can be set to Low, Medium, or High.

2. Can the white indicator on the gimbal's tilt axis / gimbal arm be turned off?

Currently, the white indicator on the gimbal's tilt axis / gimbal arm can not be turned off.
