Applicable Models: Flow, Flow Pro, Flow 2, and Flow 2 Pro
The gimbal is compatible with Mic Air. However, the gimbal cannot be directly paired with the Mic Air transmitter for use. If needed, we recommend visiting Insta360 Store to search for and purchase the Mic Air (1 TX + 1 RX) edition.
No. Simply connect the Mic Air receiver to your mobile phone, then mount the phone onto the gimbal to start recording.
After starting video recording, a microphone icon (indicating that Mic Air is connected) and a sound wave bar (providing feedback on the recording volume) will be displayed in the top left corner of the Insta360 app's page.
Yes. The gimbal supports external microphones as long as the microphone is compatible with your mobile phone. The gimbal itself does not affect the compatibility between your phone and the microphone. Based on actual tests, the DJI Mic, Moma Lark M1, and Rode Wireless GO II all work properly when used with the Insta360 app. If you need to mount a third-party microphone onto the gimbal for use, only Flow and Flow Pro are supported (they are equipped with a cold shoe mount). Moreover, there is no software compatibility issue between the cold shoe mounts of Flow and Flow Pro and microphones.
Please note: If the external microphone mounted via the cold shoe mount is overly heavy, it may cause the gimbal motor to overheat and trigger the overheat protection mechanism.
