Flow Series: Mobile Phone Compatibility FAQ

Applicable Models: Flow, Flow Pro, Flow 2, and Flow 2 Pro

Mobile Phone compatibility determines whether the Flow-series gimbal can be mounted securely, operate stably, and offer full functionality. Below, you can find answers to common questions about mobile phone compatibility for Flow series products, which will help you use your gimbal more smoothly.

1. What are the phone system requirements for Flow series gimbals?

In principle, for any phone that supports the Insta360 app, basic control can be achieved through a Flow series gimbal. However, due to performance differences among different devices, some features such as 4K video recording, Face Filter, and the Pano Mode may not work perfectly on all models. You can click to view the Flow & Flow Pro Mobile Phone Compatibility List and Flow 2 & Flow 2 Pro Mobile Phone Compatibility List to check the phone models that we have tested and verified for perfect compatibility.

Please note: Due to the large number of device models running Android, HarmonyOS, and iOS systems, the above lists only include the models we have tested.

2. What are the requirements for phone size and weight for Flow series gimbals?

Flow series gimbals are compatible with most mainstream phones on the market, including bar phones and foldable phones. To ensure stability and safety, we recommend using a phone that meets the following specifications:

  • Thickness: 0.27 to 0.39in (6.9 to 10mm)
  • Width: 2.52 to 3.31in (64 to 84mm)
  • Weight: 4.59 to 10.58oz (130 to 300g)

Please note: If your phone is larger or heavier than the limits shown above, the gimbal may not clamp it securely and the phone could fall. Please use it with caution.

3. Do Flow series gimbals support use with Insta360 cameras?

No. Flow series gimbals are stabilizers specifically designed for smartphones and do not support pairing with action cameras or 360 cameras.

4. Can Flow series gimbals control the native camera of Android phones?

Basic control is possible, but features may vary by phone model. The gimbal can pair with an Android phone via Bluetooth to control the phone's native camera for photo-taking. However, due to compatibility differences between phone models, the gimbal may have variations in features such as zooming, mode switching, and front/back camera switching. You can check the Flow & Flow Pro Mobile Phone Compatibility List and Flow 2 & Flow 2 Pro Mobile Phone Compatibility List ("Phone Camera Control" section) to quickly know which features your phone supports.
