Insta360 App: Add Stats Data from Third-party Sports Devices

Applicable Models: ONE X, X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, Ace, Ace Pro, Ace Pro 2, GO 3, GO 3S, GO Ultra, ONE R, and ONE RS

You can synchronize data such as heart rate and speed recorded by third-party devices during running or cycling into videos shot with your Insta360 camera via the Insta360 app. This article provides detailed instructions for time calibration before shooting, data upload, Stats feature enabling, and other related operations, helping you easily add these stats data to your action videos and make them more detailed.

Supported data sources

The Insta360 app currently supports synchronizing activity data from Apple Health, iGPSPORT, Garmin, COROS, Magene, Suunto, and Huawei Health.

Instructions

  1. Connect your camera to the Insta360 app

Once connected, the camera automatically synchronizes the accurate timecode from your phone. You can then disconnect and shoot with the camera alone, or continue shooting while connected.

  1. Start a workout

Start a workout on your third-party sports device (watch/wristband).

  1. Upload data

Ensure the activity data is successfully uploaded within the corresponding device's companion app (the app paired with your watch/wristband).

  1. Add stats data
  • For 360 videos: Navigate to the Album page in the Insta360 app > play the video > tap "Editor" > select "Frame Cut" > Confirm Clip > tap "Edit and Export" > find and select "Stats".
  • For flat videos: Navigate to the Album page in the Insta360 app > play the video > tap "Editor" > select "Edit" > find and select "Stats".
  1. Authorize your account

On the account authorization page, select the data source you want to synchronize. Tap the "Unauthorized" area. After being redirected, log in and authorize the corresponding account. Upon successful authorization, if the timestamp of your activity data matches the video timestamp, the stats data will be displayed in your video.

Please note:

  • To synchronize data from Magene or Suunto, please update your Insta360 app to version v2.6.0 or later.
  • Garmin, iGPSPORT, and Magene have separate International and Chinese versions. Please ensure the account associated with your activity record matches the version you are using to avoid data synchronization issues.
  • Suunto currently supports only 6 styles of stats: Classic, Future, Racing, Cool, Simple, and Rhythm. Inclusion of other styles will be scheduled later (BMW and MM93 Marc Márquez Racing styles do not support displaying diving data).
  • When exporting a video with stats data, you must select "Flat Video". This export feature is not yet available for 360 videos.
  • If there is strong signal interference in the shooting environment, it might prevent GPS data from being acquired. It is recommended to shoot in open outdoor areas.
  • The Stats feature is currently not supported in the following shooting modes: Timelapse, Starlapse, TimeShift, Slow Motion, and Bullet Time.
