Insta360 App: Switching Between Preview Modes

Applicable Models: ONE X, X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, Ace, Ace Pro, Ace Pro 2, GO 3, GO 3S, GO Ultra, ONE R, and ONE RS

Preview modes allow you to switch between "Smooth Operation" and "HD Quality" for better real-time preview during editing. This facilitates efficient editing without affecting the final exported video's clarity.

How to switch between preview modes

Method 1: From the Player page (formerly the playback page in Album)

On the Album page, select the media you want to edit > tap the "Settings" icon in the top left corner > switch between "Original Mode" and "Proxy Mode" under "Preview mode".

Method 2: From the Edit page

On the Edit page, tap "Create a Video" > select media and tap the "Settings" icon in the top left corner > switch between "Original Mode" and "Proxy Mode" under "Preview mode".

Please note:

Only certain media containing an LRV file supports switching to "Original Mode" within the Insta360 app.

• GO 3 and GO 3S: Media does not support switching between preview modes within the Insta360 app.
• Ace and Ace Pro: All media shot in video modes other than Slow Motion and Timelapse supports switching to "Original Mode" within the Insta360 app.
• Ace Pro 2: All media shot in video modes other than Starlapse and Slow Motion supports switching to "Original Mode" within the Insta360 app.
