The Album page in the Insta360 app v2.0.0 or later features an optimized UI layout and file categorization logic. It utilizes the APEI algorithm to enhance 360 media cover images, helping you identify and filter media more efficiently and easily manage camera files, downloaded files, and cloud content.

How to access the Album page

Open the Insta360 app and tap "Album" in the bottom navigation bar to enter the Album page.

Features on the Album page

It is recommended to update your Insta360 app to v2.0.0 or later to experience all the optimized features on the Album page.

Feature 1: File Display
  • The background color of the Album page is optimized to black, and tabs like "Memories" and "All" now occupy less space on the page, resulting in a cleaner visual experience.
  • 360 media cover images are displayed in a square format, presenting information more clearly.

Feature 2: File Classification

The three functional tabs "Camera", "Downloaded", and "Cloud" are horizontally displayed, making classification clear and allowing you to quickly switch between them.

Please note: If you have subscribed to the "Cloud" service, you can view and manage your cloud media. This tab will not be displayed if the service is not activated.

Feature 3: File Badges
  • Favorite badge: A heart icon in the bottom left corner, making favorited media recognizable at a glance.
  • File type badge: Located in the bottom right corner for more convenient viewing.
  • New 360 media badge: An exclusive badge in the bottom right corner to quickly distinguish 360 media, making filtering more efficient.

Feature 4: View Adjustment (Grid/Date View)

The grid view is displayed by default. During scrolling, the shooting date of media is shown, providing an intuitive display of when they are captured.

Tap the "View Switch" option at the bottom to freely switch to the date view, catering to different browsing habits.

Feature 5: Cover Thumbnails
  • The APEI algorithm is used to optimize the compositions of 360 media covers, displaying less irrelevant information and creating more aesthetically pleasing images, helping you quickly identify and filter media, significantly improving efficiency in search and easily locating target content.

Media on the Album page is sorted in descending order by shooting time. Whether you choose the grid view or date view, the latest shot media will always appear at the top.

2. Why does selecting 360 media on the Album page increase loading time and cause the phone to heat up easily?

The new version of the Insta360 app (v2.0.0 and later) uses the APEI algorithm to generate cover images for 360 media, presenting you with better compositions and images closer to the in-camera effect for easier media lookup. However, this algorithm increases the performance consumption, which may lead to longer loading times and slight phone heating.
