Insta360 App: File Transfer with Computer
Applicable Models: ONE X, X2, X3, X4, X5, Ace, Ace Pro, Ace Pro 2, GO 3, GO 3S, and GO Ultra
If you need to transfer media from the camera to your computer, or transfer files between the Insta360 app and your computer, this article provides clear instructions to help you manage your media smoothly.

Instructions
Scenario 1: Transfer from camera to computer (Mac/Windows)
- Connect the camera to your computer using the Type-C USB cable supplied with the camera. Turn on the camera and wait for the camera's drive icon to appear on your computer.
- Open the "DCIM" > "Camera01" folder on the drive, then copy the photos or videos inside to your computer.
Please note: If the camera cannot be connected to your computer, please troubleshoot by following the steps below.
- Ensure the camera firmware is updated to the latest version.
- Please always use the USB cable supplied with the camera, as third-party cables may not be compatible.
- Check that the camera is powered on.
- Confirm the Micro SD card model is compatible with the camera, and the card is undamaged and making proper contact.
- Try using a different USB port on the computer, or test with another computer to rule out port issues.
Scenario 2: Transfer between the Insta360 app and a Mac computer
- Transfer from Mac to Insta360 app for iOS a. Connect your iPhone to the Mac. Open "Finder" and select your device. b. In the "Finder" window, select "Files". Locate and select "Insta360". c. Create a new folder named "IMPORT" on your computer desktop and drag the files you want to transfer into it. d. Drag the entire "IMPORT" folder into the "Insta360" folder to complete the transfer.
Please note:
- The folder name "IMPORT" must be in all uppercase letters and spelled correctly for the transfer to complete.
- The transfer process might not display a progress bar on the computer; please wait patiently.
- You may need to restart the Insta360 app after transfer to view the files.
- When transferring 360° media, you need to copy both files that share the same suffix.
- Transfer from the Insta360 app for iOS to Mac a. Connect your iPhone to the Mac. Open "Finder" and select your device. b. In the "Finder" window, select "Files". Locate and select "Insta360". c. Click the triangle next to "Insta360" to expand the folder. d. Select the "DCIM" folder, then drag the files from it to your desired location on the Mac.

- Transfer from Mac to the Insta360 app for Android a. Install Android File Transfer on your Mac. b. Connect your Android phone to the Mac and open Android File Transfer. Follow the path of "Android" > "data" > "com.arashivision.insta360akiko" > "files" > "Insta360+Camera Model" > "galleryOriginal" to find the "Insta360 App" album folder. c. Copy the files you want to transfer from your computer into this folder to complete the transfer.
- Transfer from the Insta360 app for Android to Mac a. Install Android File Transfer on your Mac. b. Connect your Android phone to the Mac and open Android File Transfer. Follow the path of "Android" > "data" > "com.arashivision.insta360akiko" > "files" > "Insta360+Camera Model" > "galleryOriginal" to find the "Insta360 App" album folder. c. Copy the files from this folder to your computer to complete the transfer.
Scenario 3: Between the Insta360 app and a Windows computer
- Transfer from a Windows computer to the Insta360 app for iOS a. Install "iTunes" on your Windows computer. b. Connect your iPhone to the computer using the Type-C cable supplied with your iPhone. Open iTunes and grant access permission when prompted on your iPhone. c. After successful authorization, click the device icon in the upper left corner of iTunes to go to the device's Files page. d. In the left menu, find and select "Insta360" under "File Sharing". e. Create a new folder named "IMPORT" on your computer desktop and drag the files you want to transfer into it. f. Drag the entire "IMPORT" folder into the "Insta360" folder to complete the transfer.

- Transfer from a Windows computer to the Insta360 app for Android a. Connect your Android phone to the computer via a USB cable (some phones may require selecting the "MTP" mode). b. Open "My Computer" or "This PC" on your computer, then double-click "Internal Storage" to enter your phone's folder directory. Follow the path of "Android" > "data" > "com.arashivision.insta360akiko" > "files" > "Insta360+Camera Model" > "galleryOriginal" to find the "Insta360 App" album folder. c. Copy the files you want to transfer from your computer into this folder to complete the transfer.
- Transfer from the Insta360 app for Android to a Windows computer a. Connect your Android phone to the computer via a USB cable (some phones may require selecting the "MTP" mode). b. Open "My Computer" or "This PC" on your computer, then double-click "Internal Storage" to enter your phone's folder directory. Follow the path of "Android" > "data" > "com.arashivision.insta360akiko" > "files" > "Insta360+Camera Model" > "galleryOriginal" to find the "Insta360 App" album folder. c. Copy the files from this folder to your computer to complete the transfer.
