No, the "Retrieve Historical Files" feature is not a recycle bin, so it cannot help with recovering deleted files. This feature allows you to transfer files from previous versions of the Insta360 app (such as media from the ONE X app or the ONE app) into the Insta360 app using the file path.
No, the file will not be retained. When you tap "Download" in the Insta360 app, the file is only stored in the local storage of the Insta360 app on that specific phone and will not be automatically saved to your phone's system album, nor is it synced to the Insta360 app on other devices. If you uninstall the Insta360 app from your phone, any files downloaded within the app will also be deleted. These files cannot be recovered after you reinstall the app.
You can locate the folder by following this path on your phone:
Android > data > com.arashivision.insta360akiko > files > Insta360 "Camera Model" > galleryOriginal
If you cannot find your media file in this folder, it means the media was not successfully downloaded or has already been deleted. In this case, the media cannot be displayed or recovered in the Insta360 app.
