The Dolby Vision feature in the Insta360 app allows videos shot by the camera to display more vibrant colors and clearer details for superior image quality. This article details related steps, applicable devices, and FAQ to help you quickly master this feature.
How to enable/disable Dolby Vision
Before use, it is recommended to update the Insta360 app to v2.0.0 or later to ensure stable functionality.
- Method 1: Open the Insta360 app > tap "Album" > select your media to enter the player page (the original album playback page) > find the "Dolby Vision" toggle switch in the upper left corner and tap to enable it.

- Method 2: Open the Insta360 app > tap "Edit" > "Auto Edit" > select your media > tap "Edit Clip" > "Go to More Edits" > "Dolby Vision".

Please note: Currently, only iOS system supports exporting Dolby Vision videos while Android system does not.

1. Which phones/tablets support exporting Dolby Vision videos with the Insta360 app?
Supported phone models: iPhone 12 and later models (requires update to iOS 14.0 or later) support exporting Dolby Vision videos; Android devices do not currently support this feature.
Supported iPad models:
- iPad Pro: 12.9-inch (5th, 6th, and 7th Gen) and 11-inch (3rd, 4th, and 5th Gen).
- iPad Air: 5th and 6th Gen.
- iPad: 9th and 10th Gen.
2. Does the Insta360 app support exporting H.265 format videos? How to export videos in this format?
Yes. If you are using an iOS device, you can enable the Dolby Vision feature in the editing options on the media editing page of the Insta360 app. Once enabled, exported videos will be saved in H.265 format by default.
Please note: Android devices do not currently support exporting videos in this format.
