The Rotate feature in the Insta360 app allows you to adjust the orientation of your media by rotating it between landscape and portrait. This article describes how to use this feature and provides some FAQ answers, helping you easily adjust orientation for a smoother editing experience.

How to rotate media

The steps for rotating media may vary slightly depending on your Insta360 app version. You can follow the instructions for your current version or visit the Insta360 website to download and update to the latest version.

Please note: You can check your current app version by opening the Insta360 app > tapping "Me" > "Settings" icon in the top right> "About Insta360".

For Insta360 app versions prior to v2.0.0

Open the Insta360 app > navigate to the Album page > select the video whose orientation you want to change > tap "Editor" > "Rotate"

For Insta360 app v2.0.0 and later
  • Method 1: Open the Insta360 app > navigate to the Album page > select the video whose orientation you want to change > tap "Editor" > "Edit" > "Transform" > "Rotate"

Method 2: Open the Insta360 app > tap "Edit" > "Create a Video" > select the video whose orientation you want to change > tap "Edit" > "Transform" > "Rotate"

Description

Rotate 90° (switching between Landscape and Portrait): Supports one-tap rotation. Applicable to non-360° and non-FreeFrame media.

Fine rotation (within 45° range): Applicable to FreeFrame media.

Please note:

  • The "Rotate 90°" feature is available in Insta360 app v2.4.0 and later. To use this feature, please update your Insta360 app to the latest version.
  • Rotation is only supported for non-360° media and FreeFrame videos. If you are using a 360 camera, you can shoot flat media using the Single-Lens mode or choose to export media as a flat video to enable rotation.
