How to connect Apple Watch to a camera
Step 1. Install the Insta360 app on your Apple Watch
Method 1: Install via your iPhone
- Ensure you have the latest version of the Insta360 app installed on your iPhone.
- Open the "Watch" app on your iPhone.
- Swipe down to find your camera model and tap "Install".

Method 2: Install directly on your Apple Watch
Open the App Store on your Apple Watch, search for "Insta360", and download the app.
Step 2. Connect your App Watch to a camera
- Press the camera's power button to turn it on.
- Open the Insta360 app on your Apple Watch, and it will search for the corresponding camera model.
- Follow the on-screen prompts and tap "Confirm" to complete the pairing process.
Please note:
- When searching, please confirm the camera model (e.g., X2, X3, X4, etc.).
- Under conditions without signal interference, the effective Bluetooth connection range is up to 10 meters.
How to use Apple Watch to control a camera
Starting from v2.14.0, the Insta360 app for Apple Watch supports double-tap to control shooting. Here are the steps:
- In your Apple Watch, tap "Settings" > "Gestures" > enable "Double Tap".
- Make sure the Insta360 app has been updated to v2.14.0 or later, and that your watch is successfully connected to the camera.
- After the update, when you enter the shooting page for the first time, a pop-up window will prompt you to guide you. Click "Confirm" to go to the shooting page.

- On the shooting page, tap the shooting mode icon at the bottom left to switch shooting modes; tap the bottom right to adjust shooting parameters.
- While the watch screen is on, double tap your fingers to control the shutter:
- In the photo mode, you can double tap your fingers to take a photo.
- In the video mode, you can double tap your fingers to start recording, and double tap them again to stop recording.
Please note: If an abnormal situation occurs while the watch screen is on, you can double tap "Confirm" to proceed.
