FAQ

What should I do if the gesture control feature doesn't work or is unresponsive?

We recommend you follow these steps to troubleshoot and quickly resolve the issue:

  1. Disable Battery Saver: Swipe down on the watch screen to check the Battery Saver toggle. Disable "Battery Saver" as the gesture control feature is not supported in this mode.
  2. Check the Gesture Control settings: Go to "Settings" on your watch > select "Gestures", complete the steps illustrated in the tutorial, enable Detect Smart Gestures, and check if the gesture control feature works properly.
  3. Adjust how you wear the watch: The watch should not be worn too loosely or too tightly. It is recommended to wear it further back on your wrist, away from the wrist bone, to avoid affecting the gesture recognition by the optical sensor.
  4. Choose a suitable scenario: The success rate of gesture recognition may decrease when your arm is hanging down, under pressure, or in motion. Try to keep your arm raised horizontally and your hand stable.
  5. Confirm the shooting page: Ensure the focus aperture is visible in the shooting page. If it is not showing, press the crown twice to close background apps, then re-enter the Insta360 app.
