Ace Series: Camera Heats Up Quickly / Automatically Stops Recording Due to Overheating

Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2

Insta360 cameras are equipped with high-performance chips. During high-resolution recording, power consumption is significant, which can lead to the camera heating up during extended use – this is a normal phenomenon. Additionally, using the camera during physical activities, or in hot or humid environments, can also cause it to heat up. Insta360 cameras have a built-in overheating protection system. When the camera temperature becomes too high, an overheating warning will appear, and the camera will automatically stop recording to ensure its safety. If your camera heats up significantly or stops recording due to overheating, you can try the following solution:

Solution

  1. Pause recording and place the camera in a cool, well-ventilated place. Let it sit and cool down for 5-10 minutes before resuming recording once the camera temperature has decreased.
  2. For subsequent use, try to avoid continuous recording in hot environments. You can also try reducing the resolution or frame rate approximately to extend recording time.

If the camera frequently exhibits abnormal overheating or triggers overheating protection after short recording periods, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
