Ace Series: Fogging on Lens Guard or Front Screen

Ace Series: Fogging on Lens Guard or Front Screen

Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2

Scenario 1: Fogging or condensation on the lens guard

Description

When shooting for extended periods in environments with high humidity or significant temperature differences, the camera's lens guard may fog up due to temperature variation between the inside and outside. This is a normal physical phenomenon and typically does not affect the camera's functionality. A common example is when eyeglasses fog up upon moving from cold outdoors into a warm room in winter; the fog typically dissipates once temperature stabilizes.

Solution

Let the camera sit for about 5 to 10 minutes. The fog will usually dissipate naturally, after which the camera can be used normally.

Scenario 2: Fogging on the front screen

Description

After use in humid environments or underwater, residual moisture may cause slight fogging on the front screen. This is a normal physical phenomenon and typically does not affect the normal operation of the camera.

Solution

It is recommended to place the camera in a dry, well-ventilated area and let it air dry. Alternatively, you can gently blow cool air from a hair dryer onto the screen surface. Check if normal function is restored afterwards.

If the fog does not dissipate after trying the above methods or begins to affect normal shooting, we recommend you apply for Insta360 Repair Service for professional diagnostics.
