Ace Series: White Spots, Bright Spots, or Dust Inside Lens

Ace Series: White Spots, Bright Spots, or Dust Inside Lens

Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2

Solution

Step 1: Check and clean the exterior of the lens
  1. Gently wipe the surface of the Lens Guard with a damp cloth.
  2. If the Lens Guard is detachable, you can remove it first and then wipe the lens surface.
  3. After cleaning, check if the white spot has disappeared.
  4. If the white spot still exists, turn on your phone's flashlight to illuminate the lens and gently rotate the camera while observing whether the spot moves in the same direction as the rotation.
  5. If using a flashlight is inconvenient, you may also try covering the light source or moving your shooting position (e.g., from indoors to outdoors), observing whether the spot change with the light.

Please note: For Ace and Ace Pro, the Lens Guard and lens are an integrated, non-detachable unit. Simply clean the exterior surface of the Lens Guard.

Step 2: Determine the situation based on observations

Scenario 1: White spots move with rotation

These white spots are reflections from internal lens elements, not actual blemishes. They will not affect the shooting quality, and you can continue using the camera normally.

Scenario 2: If white spots disappear after wiping or do not move with rotation or change with the light

Such white spots may be tiny dust particles. Every Insta360 camera undergoes strict quality inspection before shipment, and such tiny dust particles usually do not affect the shooting quality. However, if you observe a noticeable impact on the shooting quality, we recommend you apply for Insta360 Repair Service for professional diagnostics.
