Ace Pro 2: Timecode Synchronization
Applicable Models: Ace Pro 2
The camera provides the Timecode feature to help you precisely synchronize shooting times, making the multi-camera footage editing more efficient during post-production. The instructions below detail two methods for using the Timecode feature, along with answers to frequently asked questions.
Instructions
Method 1: Using with a timecode generator
- Use a separately purchased Insta360 Ace Pro 2 Mic Adapter to connect the camera and the timecode generator.
- Once the timecode generator is correctly inserted into the adapter, the camera will automatically and quickly synchronize its time with the generator.
- After confirming the time has been successfully written, you can start shooting based on the timecode generator's time.
Method 2: Syncing with system time (via the Insta360 app)
- Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu.
- Tap "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙), then find and tap "Timecode".
- On the Timecode Settings screen, select "Sync System Time".
- Follow the on-screen instructions to scan the QR code and connect the camera to the Insta360 app. Once connected, the Insta360 app background service will automatically calibrate the camera's system time and use this system time as the camera's timecode.
- After the calibration is completed, return to the camera's shooting screen to start shooting normally.

FAQ
Does the camera's Timecode feature support continuous time synchronization or just JamSync?
It only supports JamSync.
Please note: JamSync refers to aligning the timecode of multiple cameras to the same time at a specific moment, whereas continuous time sync requires multiple cameras to remain synchronized throughout the entire recording process.
