The Quick Reader is a storage accessory. With a microSD card inserted, the Quick Reader can be directly connected to your camera, phone, tablet, or computer, where it acts as an external storage device for quick access to your media. Below are instructions on how to use the Quick Reader to help you manage your media efficiently.
How to connect the Quick Reader to a camera
- Insert a microSD card into the Quick Reader.

- Remove the camera's USB Port Cover, connect the Quick Reader to the camera, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the connection.

Please note: Once connected successfully, the Quick Reader functions as an external storage device. Videos and photos captured by the camera can be saved directly to the Quick Reader.
How to connect the Quick Reader to a phone or tablet
- Insert a microSD card into the Quick Reader.

- Follow the steps below based on your device:
- iOS: Remove the silicone cover from the Quick Reader, then connect the Quick Reader to your phone or tablet. Open the Insta360 app, and you can directly view all files on the microSD card inside the Quick Reader.

- Android: Rotate the Quick Reader connector 90° counterclockwise, then connect the Quick Reader to your phone or tablet. Open the Insta360 app, tap "Settings" > "Choose directory" > "USE THIS FOLDER". On some phones, you may need to first tap the top-left corner to select the corresponding disk, then tap "USE THIS FOLDER".

Please note: Once connected successfully, you can directly play and edit files stored on the Quick Reader within the Insta360 app, improving processing speed.

- Insert a microSD card into the Quick Reader.

- Connect the Quick Reader to your computer. Once connected, you can directly access all files on the microSD card inside the Quick Reader.

The Quick Reader has a read speed of 80-90MB/s and a write speed of 40-50MB/s. It transfers approximately 50% faster than Wi-Fi.
2. Can I use a USB flash drive with the camera?
To avoid compatibility issues, we recommend using the Insta360 Quick Reader.
