Ace Series: Automatic Powering Off/On or Restart

Ace Series: Automatic Powering Off/On or Restart

Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2

Scenario 1: The camera automatically powers on or off while charging

  1. Check the cable specifications

When charging the camera, it is recommended to use the officially supplied standard USB cable or a standard USB-A to Type-C cable. Please do not use fast-charging cables rated at 6A or higher, as these cables may cause the camera to power on automatically.

Please note: The following is a reference list of mainstream phone models that are often supplied with charging cables rated at 6A or higher. You can check the specific cable specifications on the respective phone brand's official website:

  • Huawei: Mate 50 series, P60 series, Mate X foldable series
  • Xiaomi: Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Ultra
  • OPPO: OPPO Find X6 Pro
  • Vivo: iQOO 11 series, vivo X90 Pro+
  1. Check the charging settings

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙) > find "Power-off Charging". Check if "Charge and power on" is selected. Disable this option if you do not need the feature.

Scenario 2: Frequent automatic power-off/power-on or restart during operation or recording

For footage captured in the Starlapse Mode

Please tap the "shooting specifications" icon in the lower-left corner of the camera screen to open the Starlapse Mode settings page and check whether the Duration is set to "∞".

  • If it is not set to "∞": The camera will automatically shut down after recording for the set duration. You can adjust the recording duration as needed.
  • If it is set to "∞" but the camera frequently shuts down automatically, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.

For footage captured in other shooting modes

We recommend that you follow these steps:

  1. Perform a factory reset

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > select "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙) > tap "Factory Reset" > tap "Confirm".

  1. Check SD card specifications

Please ensure you are using a microSD card with a speed class of UHS-I, V30 or higher and is formatted with exFAT. Using a memory card with a speed class of UHS-II or UHS-III or a memory card with a capacity exceeding 1TB may cause recording errors and result in this issue.

If none of the above solutions resolves your issue, we recommend you apply for Insta360 Repair Service for professional diagnostics.

Scenario 3: Automatically power-off while previewing Starlapse media on the camera (for Ace Pro 2 only)

Reason

Some Starlapse videos exceed the camera's performance thresholds, causing the camera to power off automatically during preview.

Solution

The video you recorded is not corrupted. You can open, view, and share the video normally using the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio. We will continue to improve our products to provide you with a better user experience. Thank you for your understanding and support!

If none of the above solutions resolve your issue, or if you occasionally encounter this issue while operating your camera or recording, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
