Ace Series: Phone or PC Cannot Recognize the Memory Card in Quick Reader
Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2
Scenario 1: PC shows "Failed to recognize the memory card" when Quick Reader is connected
1. Check memory card compatibility
Make sure you are using a Micro SD / TF card formatted as exFAT that meets the following specifications: UHS-I, V30 or higher.
2. Check USB ports and drivers
- Connect the Quick Reader directly to a USB port on the PC motherboard; avoid using a hub.
- Try connecting another USB device (like a USB flash drive) to the same port to verify if the port functions correctly.
- If multiple ports have been tried but fail to recognize the device, update the USB driver in the computer's "Device Manager": Click the "Start" menu in the bottom left of the PC screen > search for and open "Device Manager" > expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" > locate "USB Devices" or "Removable Storage Devices" > Right-click and select "Update Driver".
3. Test with a different card reader
- If successful: The issue might be with the Quick Reader itself.
- If still unsuccessful: The SD card might be faulty. Try using a different card or format the existing one.

Scenario 2: Phone cannot recognize the memory card when Quick Reader is connected
1. Check memory card specifications
Make sure you are using a Micro SD / TF card formatted as exFAT that meets the following specifications: UHS-I, V30 or higher.
2. Check phone compatibility
After inserting the memory card into the Quick Reader, connect it to your PC or camera to see if files can be read:
- If readable: The issue might be compatibility with your specific phone model. Try using a different phone or device.
- If unreadable: Try inserting the memory card into a different card reader and connecting it to PC.
- Card read successfully: The issue might be with the Quick Reader itself.
- Card read unsuccessfully: The SD card might be faulty. Use a different card or format the existing one and try again.
Please note:
For iOS users:
- iPads with Type-C ports are currently not supported for recognizing the Quick Reader through the Insta360 app due to Apple's certification restrictions. You can browse the photos or videos using the Files app on your iPhone.
- If your iPhone's iOS version is below iOS 13, please update the system and try again.
For Android users:
- Make sure the OTG feature is enabled (you can usually find this in "Settings" or "Device Management"), then try connecting the Quick Reader.
