Ace Series: Abnormal Audio Recording

Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2

Scenario 1: Wind noise in videos

Ace and Ace Pro

When shooting in windy conditions like cycling or running, you can enable the "Wind Reduction" mode to effectively minimize wind noise.

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Audio Settings" (the microphone-shaped icon) > select "Wind Reduction".

Ace Pro 2

When shooting in windy conditions like cycling or running, you can attach a microphone wind guard and enable the "Wind Reduction" mode to effectively minimize wind noise.

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Audio Settings" (the microphone-shaped icon) > select "Wind Reduction".

Scenario 2: Static noise, electrical noise, or fluctuating audio levels in videos

1. Check for microphone obstruction

Check if accessories like a Utility Frame, protective case, or sticker are used on the camera. Ensure they do not obstruct the microphone (refer to the figure below for microphone location).

2. Switch audio modes

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Audio Settings" (the microphone-shaped icon) > select a different audio mode and record again to see if the issue has been resolved.

Scenario 3: No sound during video playback

No sound only during playback on the camera

Open the Album page, tap the "Volume" icon on the left, and check if it was accidentally set to "Mute".

If you used the Slow Motion, Timelapse or TimeShift Mode while shooting, videos are muted by default. Please confirm if the media was shot in these modes.

Scenario 4: Unable to record audio after using an external microphone

Ace Pro

Please check the current firmware version of your camera. If it is v1.0.96, you can download and install the temporary firmware. After updating the firmware via the SD card, verify whether the issue is resolved.

Ace and Ace Pro 2

Please try restarting the camera or performing a factory reset, then record a video to see if the audio returns to normal.

If the steps above don't resolve the issue, try restarting or resetting the camera:

  1. Restart the camera: Power off the camera, wait for 30 seconds, and then power it back on.
  2. Restore factory settings: Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙) > "Factory Reset" > "Confirm".
