Ace Series: Video Bitrate & Encoding Format Settings
Ace Series: Video Bitrate & Encoding Format Settings
Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2
The video bitrate and encoding format can be flexibly adjusted to suit different video quality and storage needs. The instructions below provide detailed methods for parameter settings and explanations of bitrate values, helping you quickly configure your shooting parameters.
Instructions
Bitrate setting
Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙) > scroll down to "Bitrate" > select "High" or "Standard" bitrate.
Please note:
- Video bitrate refers to the amount of video data transferred per second, measured in Mbps (Megabits per second).
- A higher bitrate yields better video quality, but also results in larger video file sizes.
Encoding format setting
Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙) > tap "Image Settings" > tap "Video Encoding" > select "H.264" or "H.265"
Please note: H.265 (HEVC) offers higher compression efficiency, generating smaller files for the same visual quality, making it particularly suitable for high-resolution shooting like 4K.
FAQ
What are the specific values for Low, Standard, and High bitrate settings on the camera?
The actual bitrate value is not fixed and is influenced by the following factors:
- Resolution/Frame Rate setting: When the "High" bitrate is selected, higher resolutions and frame rates generally result in higher bitrate values.
- Encoding Format setting: H.265 requires a lower bitrate than H.264 to achieve similar video quality.
Example: In the Video Mode at 4K@60fps resolution with High bitrate selected, the value is approximately 120 Mbps.
