The camera's Starlapse Mode automatically captures and stores multiple photos of the starry sky, and then intelligently composites them into a single image showcasing the beautiful movement of star trails. The following instructions detail the operational steps to help you easily get started with this mode.

How to enable the Starlapse Mode

  1. After powering on the camera, tap the "Shooting Mode" icon in the lower left of the screen. On the mode selection screen, swipe left or right to select "Starlapse" to enable this mode.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to enter the Parameter Settings page, tap "Type" in the top left corner, and select "Starlapse", "Star Trails Video", or "Star Trails Photo".
    • Starlapse: The camera automatically captures multiple starry sky photos and compiles them into a timelapse video, showcasing the dynamic effect of stars moving across the night sky.
    • Star Trails Video: The camera automatically captures multiple photos and compiles them into a timelapse video of star trails, showcasing the dynamic effect of stars' motion trails stretched into lines.
    • Star Trails Photo: The camera automatically captures multiple photos and compiles them into a single static photo, showcasing the static image of stars' motion trails stretched into lines.
  2. After setting the recording duration, photo format, and other parameters according to your needs, you can start shooting.
  3. After shooting, the camera will automatically save an original media and an effect-synthesized media.

Please note:

  • Please try to keep the camera as still as possible during the shooting process.
  • When previewing the original media through the Insta360 app, you can reselect the final media type and export the media.
