The Gesture Control feature allows you to control the camera using hand gestures, making it easier and more comfortable for you to take selfies while traveling or record sports activities. The detailed procedures are described below to help you capture perfect shots.

How to enable and use

1. Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the Shortcut menu.
2. Tap "Gesture Control" (Hand icon ✋) to enable the feature.
3. Supported Gestures:
   • ✋ Palm gesture: Start/stop recording video.
   • ✌️ Peace sign: Start a 3-second countdown (the countdown duration is fixed and cannot be changed) to take a photo. This guesture can be used for taking selfies.

Please note:

• Gesture Control is not supported in Starlapse and Interval Photo Modes.
• This feature is unavailable when the camera is set to higher resolutions (e.g., 6K or 8K) or higher frame rates (100fps and above).

1. What is the effective distance for gesture control?

• Ace and Ace Pro: 0.5m to 1.6m (1.6ft to 5.2ft)
• Ace Pro 2: 0.4m to 1.6m (1.3ft to 5.2ft)

2. When a person makes a peace sign and another makes a palm gesture simultaneously, which gesture does the camera prioritize recognizing?

The camera recognizes and acts upon the gesture from the person whose face occupies the largest area in the screen.

3. Is it necessary for the full face to be visible for gesture recognition?

Recognition is possible while wearing helmets, masks, or gloves; however, the accuracy is lower compared to when the face is fully visible.

4. When using a gesture to take a photo while in a video recording mode, what are the default photo settings?

When triggered by the peach sign ✌️, the system uses the most recently set parameters from the Photo Mode by default.

5. If I use a gesture to start recording a video while in the Photo Mode, what are the default video settings?

When triggered by the palm gesture ✋, the system uses the most recently set parameters from the Video Mode by default.

6. Can I use Gesture Control underwater?

Yes. However, due to potential light conditions and environmental interference underwater, the success rate of gesture recognition may be affected.
