Ace Series: Common Issues with the Xplorer Grip Kit

Ace Series: Common Issues with the Xplorer Grip Kit

Applicable Models: Ace Pro and Ace Pro 2

Scenario 1: The shutter button does not spring back, gets stuck, sinks in, or is difficult to press

Description

After installing the Utility Frame, the camera's shutter button does not spring back automatically after being pressed, feels sluggish during pressing, sinks in without resetting, or is difficult to press down.

Solution

The Utility Frame included in the Xplorer Bundle must be used with the Cold Shoe Shutter Button. Pressing the shutter button directly with your finger, without the Cold Shoe Shutter Button installed, may cause uneven force distribution, leading to sticking or failure to spring back. For a smoother and more stable pressing experience, please install the Cold Shoe Shutter Button before operating the shutter. You can search for and purchase this accessory at the Insta360 Store.

Scenario 2: Utility Frame cannot be locked securely or is loose

Description

When installing the Utility Frame, the buckle cannot be locked securely or easily becomes loose, or the Utility Frame does not fit snugly against the camera.

Solution

When installing the Xplorer Grip Kit, apply moderate pressure to press the buckle of the Utility Frame fully into place until you hear a clear "click" sound. This indicates the buckle is completely locked and will effectively prevent loosening during use.

For a more intuitive operational demonstration, please refer to How to Lock the Buckle.

Scenario 3: Battery cover on the Utility Frame is difficult to open or close

Description

The battery cover on the Utility Frame cannot be opened or closed easily; some force is required.

Solution

The inside of the battery cover on the Utility Frame is equipped with a rubber pad designed to keep the camera stable and snug once installed. To ensure this stability, the pad has a certain thickness, which may make the battery cover feel tighter to open and close. We recommend holding both sides of the battery cover with both hands and applying even pressure for easier operation.

Scenario 4: Rattling noise emitted when shaking the Utility Frame

Description

When shaking the Utility Frame in your hand, a rattling noise can be heard from inside.

Solution

The Utility Frame is an assembly of multiple components and is designed to be compatible with both Ace Pro and Ace Pro 2. A certain amount of installation clearance is intentionally reserved between the buckles. Therefore, a slight rattling noise when shaking the Utility Frame is normal and you can continue using it with confidence.
