Waterproofing
Q1 What precautions should I take before using Ace/Ace Pro in water?
- Make sure the battery cover and USB cover are properly closed and free of sand, dust, and debris.
- Lock the Flip Touchscreen. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the lock screen icon. With the touchscreen locked, press the Q button (Ace) or on/off button (Ace Pro) to switch modes, and press the shutter button to select the shooting mode and return to the preview page.
Q2 What tips should I know while using Ace/Ace Pro in water?
- Avoid rapidly plunging the camera into the water. For activities like diving and surfing, where water impact may be intense, we recommend using our Ace/Ace Pro Dive Case.
- Ace & Ace Pro are waterproof up to 10 meters (33ft). For extended underwater shooting, we recommended our dive case, which boosts waterproofing to up to 196ft (60m).
- For the best waterproof performance, do not use the camera underwater for more than 1 hour at a time.
- Do not use Ace/Ace Pro in damp environments outside the recommended temperature range of -4 to 104℉ (-20 to 40℃), like a sauna, steam room, or hot spring.
Q3 What should I do after using Ace/Ace Pro in water?
- After freshwater use, thoroughly dry the camera with a soft cloth and then let it air dry until no water droplets are present. Do not open the battery or USB cover until the camera is completely dry.
- After seawater use, rinse the camera under clean water with the Flip Touchscreen open and then soak it in clean water for 5-10 minutes. Wipe dry with a soft cloth and leave it to air dry until no water droplets are present. Do not open the battery or USB cover until the camera is completely dry.
- The speaker, microphone, and pressure vents on the camera body contain waterproof materials underneath them. To ensure that Ace/Ace Pro remains waterproof, avoid damaging these parts through contact with hard objects, and do not use a hairdryer to dry the camera.
