Ace Series: Disconnection During File Transfer to PC

Ace Series: Disconnection During File Transfer to PC

Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2

Description

Disconnection may occur when transferring files from the camera to PC, especially when copying multiple files simultaneously or when transferring large files on Windows.

Solution

Scenario 1: Disconnection when transferring multiple files simultaneously
  1. Replace the USB cable. Using the officially supplied standard USB cable is recommended.
  2. Restart the PC and try connecting again.
  3. Try connecting to another PC.

If you are still unable to resolve the issue after trying the solution above, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.

Scenario 2: Disconnection when copying large files on a Windows PC

1. Disable security software (if enabled) on the PC

Some firewall or anti-virus software might mistakenly block the camera file transfer. Please temporarily disable such software and try again.

2. Open the disk as administrator

Click "This PC" > locate the camera disk > right-click the disk icon > select "Run as Administrator".

3. Use a stable USB port

  • Desktop PC: Use the USB ports on the back of the chassis.
  • Laptop: Use the built-in USB ports directly. Avoid using hubs or adapters.

If the above methods are ineffective, try updating the USB driver as follows:

Click the "Start" menu in the bottom left of the PC screen > search for and open "Device Manager" > expand "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" > locate "USB Devices" or "Removable Storage Devices" > Right-click and select "Update Driver".

If none of the above solutions resolves your issue, we recommend you apply for Insta360 Repair Service for professional diagnostics.
