X Series: Voice Control Issues

Description

When using the Voice Control features, issues may occur such as the feature not responding, commands not being recognized, or recording started even with an incorrect command.

Solution

Scenario 1: Voice Control fails to recognize commands, or ceases to work after a Bluetooth device is connected.

Step 1: Check if the following basic settings are completed or correct

  1. Confirm that the Voice Control feature is enabled.
  2. The camera must be on the shooting preview page. Voice commands will not work on non-preview pages (e.g., settings page, playback page).
  3. Confirm that the language you are speaking matches the language set for Voice Control on the camera.
  4. When using voice control, please use the preset commands, such as: Take a Photo, Start Recording, Stop Recording, Mark That, and Shut Down Camera.
  5. Try the Voice Control feature again in a quiet environment within 1.2m (3.9ft) of the camera, and speak at a moderate speed (avoid speaking too quickly).

Please note: Noisy environments or being too far from the camera may affect the camera's ability to pick up your voice clearly, resulting in failure to receive your voice commands.

Step 2: If the above solution doesn't work, please follow these advanced troubleshooting steps

  1. Update the camera firmware to the latest version.

  1. Perform a factory reset.

  1. If you are using a Bluetooth device for voice control, please also:
    1. Reconnect the Bluetooth device.
    2. If possible, try voice control after connecting a different compatible Bluetooth device to check if the issue is caused by the original Bluetooth device.

Scenario 2: When using Voice Control with an X5 camera, the camera starts recording even if the command is incorrect

The Voice Control feature of X5 includes a "fuzzy word matching" mechanism designed to reduce command recognition failure due to minor pronunciation variations (such as accents, ambient noise, etc.). This may lead to misrecognition when command words sound similar or are pronounced unclearly. It is recommended to enunciate command words as clearly as possible to help distinguish them.
