When installing or removing an Insta360 lens guard, the camera automatically recognizes and switches to the corresponding mode; no manual setting is required. If a lens guard is installed, the corresponding icon will be displayed in the upper right corner.
When an Insta360 lens guard is installed or removed, you need to manually set the Lens Guards Mode. Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap the "Lens Guards Mode" icon to select the corresponding mode.
Available modes: Auto, Standard Lens Guards, Premium Lens Guards, and No Lens Guards

When the Lens Guards Mode is set to "Auto", the camera can automatically detect whether a Standard Lens Guard, Premium Lens Guard, or no lens guard is currently installed, preventing potential image stitching issues that might arise from forgetting to manually switch the modes.
Selecting this mode allows the Insta360 app to automatically detect whether a Standard Lens Guard or Premium Lens Guard is installed on the camera in the shooting scene. After selecting your desired media on the Album page or Edit page in the Insta360 app, tap the "Settings" icon in the top left corner > find "Lens Guard Stitching" under "Accessories" > select "Lens Guards (Auto)".
The "Off" option for the Lens Guards Mode applies to scenarios where no lens guard is installed during shooting for better stitching results. After selecting your desired media on the Album page or Edit page in the Insta360 app, tap the "Settings" icon in the top left corner > find "Lens Guard Stitching" under "Accessories" > select "Off".
