GO Series: White Spots, Bright Spots, or Dust Inside Lens
GO Series: White Spots, Bright Spots, or Dust Inside Lens
Applicable Models: GO 3, GO 3S, and GO Ultra
Solution
Step 1: Inspect and clean the outside of lens
- Gently wipe the surface of the camera's lens guard with a damp wipe.
- If the lens guard is designed to be detachable, first unscrew it, then wipe the lens surface.
- After wiping, check if the white spots have disappeared.
- If the white spot still exists, please turn on the flashlight of your mobile phone to illuminate the lens, gently rotate the lens in a circular motion, and check whether the white spot moves with the direction of rotation.
- If it is inconvenient to use a flashlight, you can also try blocking the light source or moving to other locations (e.g., from indoors to outdoors), and check whether the white spot changes with the light conditions.
Step 2: Judge based on results
Scenario 1: White spots move with rotation
These white spots are reflections from the camera's internal lens elements, not actual stains. They have no impact on image quality, so please feel free to use the camera as normal.
Scenario 2: White spots disappear after wiping, or do not move with rotation, or change with light conditions
Such white spots may be tiny dust particles. Every Insta360 camera undergoes strict quality inspection before shipment, so such tiny dust particles usually do not affect the image quality. If you do notice an impact on your footage, we recommend you apply for Insta360 Repair Service for professional diagnostics.
