How to shoot videos in the Barrel Roll mode

Method 1: Manual control (Flow / Flow Pro)

1. Power on the gimbal and switch to the FPV mode.
2. Start recording, move the camera at a constant speed in a straight line, and simultaneously turn the wheel to rotate your phone. Then you'll get the spinning shooting effect. The maximum rotation angle can reach approximately 300°.

Method 2: One-tap Barrel Roll mode activation (Flow 2 / Flow 2 Pro)

1. Ensure your gimbal is powered on and successfully connected to the Insta360 app.
2. Open the Insta360 app and navigate to the shooting interface. Long press the C Button on the gimbal handle to automatically activate the "Barrel Roll" mode.

Shooting tips

• If you activate the Barrel Roll mode on a Flow 2 or Flow 2 Pro with one tap, the rotation angle is limited to approximately 180°. If you need a wider angle, you can shoot 360 video in the Barrel Roll mode by manually controlling the FPV wheel.
• Because of the phone lens' FOV and the clamp's placement, the gimbal may appear in the frame at some angles. If you use the standard clamping method, it is recommended to keep the rotation within 200° to avoid the gimbal appearing in the frame. When exceeding 200°, it is recommended to reverse-clamp the phone to avoid the gimbal appearing in the frame and achieve a more complete shooting effect.

Why can't I activate the Barrel Roll mode of Flow 2 / Flow 2 Pro with one tap?

The "Barrel Roll" mode requires pairing with the Insta360 app. If long-pressing the C Button fails to activate this mode, please check if the gimbal is successfully connected to the Insta360 app.
