Insta360 App: Unable to Export Live Photos

Insta360 App: Unable to Export Live Photos

Applicable Models: Luna Ultra, ONE X, X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, Ace, Ace Pro, Ace Pro 2, GO 3, GO 3S, GO Ultra, ONE R, and ONE RS

Scenario 1: Some mobile phones do not support exporting live photos or cannot use this feature properly

Description
  • Some phones do not support exporting live photos.
  • When live photos are exported via the Insta360 app, they are converted into videos, with a prompt stating, "Some phones do not support saving as live photos; they will be saved as videos."
Solution

Please confirm whether your device supports exporting live photos. Currently, only iOS devices and specific Android models with certain system versions support exporting live photos in the Insta360 app.

The requirements for Android devices that support exporting live photos are as follows:

  • HUAWEI: HarmonyOS 4.3 or later, excluding HarmonyOS NEXT
  • Honor: MagicOS 8.0 or later
  • Xiaomi: Xiaomi HyperOS
  • OPPO: ColorOS 15 or later
  • Google Pixel: Android 11 or later

Please note: For realme, Samsung, and other Android phone models that are not yet adapted or do not support live photos, when you attempt to save a live photo, the Insta360 app will automatically export a video file instead of a live photo.

Scenario 2: Some Huawei and Honor models may experience export failure when saving live photos, with a prompt displayed stating "Export failed, please try again"

Due to system restrictions of Huawei and Honor devices, the Insta360 app currently cannot save live photos longer than 3 seconds on some models of these brands. We will continuously optimize our products to provide you with a better user experience. Thank you for your understanding and support!
